The development was permitted on the basis that the commercial unit would be A1, A2 or B1 use only. To change to A3 use now would change the entire nature of the development and the basis upon which planning was provided originally. Buyers of the residential units were specifically told by the developer that there would not be a restaurant on site. There is insufficient visitors parking on site for 30 staff and over 100 customers of the proposed restaurant. Station Road is always busy, has limited public parking and cannot currently cope with the volume of traffic. There are already at least 6 restaurants, numerous cafes and bakeries in Cuffley. More diversity is required. The application is for "Barham Court". The development has always been described as "James Court" and it is likely that buyers of the flats as well as other local residents are not aware of the true location for this application.
